Private recipe frozen meals are delicious, nutritionally balanced meals designed particularly for seniors.  In our kitchens, we have created dozens of wonderful main dishes, soups and desserts, using the traditional recipes we know you love!

No need to fuss…

These home-style meals can be heated in your regular oven or the microwave, and since they are frozen, they can be kept on hand in your freezer- ready whenever you are!

We can handle those too.  Private Recipe Frozen Meals takes extra care to prepare meals that accommodate special dietary requirements, including pureed foods.

Just an example of some of the delicious meals offered by Private Recipe:

Main Dishes:
Shepherd's Pie:  Seasoned ground beef, topped with mashed potatoes, served with green beans, peas and carrots.
Traditional Pot Roast:  Flavourful and tender beef with potatoes, carrots and beans.
Apple Braised Pork:  Tender strips of pork cooked in apple juice with sweet potatoes, green beans and cauliflower.
Cream Salmon:  Creamed Salmon and mashed potatoes with green and yellow beans.
Lemon Herb Fish:  Mild white fish fillets coated with a herb crumb topping, served with home fries and corn.
Country Chicken:  Boneless chicken thigh simmered in a mild creamy wine sauce, with mashed potatoes and carrots.
Turkey with Stuffing:  Slice turkey with apple bread stuffing, peas and mashed potatoes.

Frozen Meal Information

The frozen meal program is a great way to make sure you have a nutritional meal handy and ready to prepare at your convenience.  You do not have to receive hot meals to participate in the frozen meal program.  You may order a combination of main dishes, soups and desserts.  Special diet and pureed meals can be purchased.  Orders are placed by our office on the 1^st and 3^rd Wednesday of the month, with delivery the following Thursday.

Cost:

Main Dish    $3.75

Soup            $1.25

Dessert        $1.25

Meals are delivered by volunteers.  At the end of every month you will be sent an invoice for your order payable to Cobourg District Community Care.
