Hot Meal Information
Our hot meals are prepared for lunch by dietary staff at
the Golden Plough Lodge each Tuesday, Thursday and Friday.
You many have meals delivered on any or all of these days.
The cost for a meal is $4.50 and includes 6 oz soup and crackers, roll
and butter, 3 oz meat, 4 oz Vegetable x 2, 4 oz Starch (potato) and 4 oz
dessert. The menu follows a four-week rotation.
We cater to special diets and tastes.
Volunteers pick up the meals between 11:15 a.m. and 11:30
a.m. and deliver it to your home. There
is no charge for delivery. Our
volunteers provide you with a regular contact and will check on your health and
safety.
At the end of every month you will be sent an invoice for
any meals that were delivered to you during the month.
Payment is made to the Cobourg District Community Care.
Some important information:
- If
you have any changes or cancellations to your meal, you may call up to
9:30a.m on the day of delivery to notify use, and you will not be charged
for the meal.
- Our
volunteers will not leave the meal if you are not home to received it.
- If
our volunteers cannot get an answer at your door, we will call your
emergency contact for instructions.
- If
you do not let us know you wish to cancel your meal, and one is delivered to
you, we must charge you for that meal.
- If
you have a change or cancellation, please feel free to leave a message on
our voice mail if we are not in the office.
We will consider that your notification.
- Please
remember that your meal may not always be delivered at the same time each
day or week as we have many different volunteers who help us with delivery.
Be patient, however, if you have not received your meal by 12:15 give
our office a call and we will check to make sure the meals were picked up in
the kitchen.
- If
you find your meal in any way distasteful, please call us as soon as
possible. Without your input we
have no way of knowing if that what you are receiving is acceptable to you.
