The show
season is
fast
approaching.
Your 2009 Executive Committee and all our Directors have
been organizing and making arrangements for the exciting show season
ahead.
We have some changes to inform all our members/new members/non
members about.
Classes :
4. We have
moved the Barrels Class to
right after the Western Classes and the Command class is now after the
Pairs Class. These changes are due to the need for Tack Changes.
5. We no longer offer Pony Clases due to the lack of entrants.
6. We have also taken out the Green Horse Pattern class, due
to the fact that the rider is the one being judged.
Please note on the entry form, we have put limits on the lower level
classes. You may only show in the Walk Only class for 1 show season,
the walk trot and walk trot pattern you can only show in for 2 years
and then you must move up. This new rule is effective starting this
show season.
Rules:
1. We are going to allow non mechanical bitless bridles.
Please Remember - Rule for Youth
Helmet Protection
We are once again
announcing that we will be checcking helmets.
It is law now, that youth riders in any discipline (western, english,
gaming) must wear an approved helmet with harness. Our Youth age is 17
years of age as of January first of the year showing. If you turn
18 during the show year you must still wear an approved helmet until
your next show season. You are still considered a Youth Rider.
Please make sure you are
wearing an approve helmet - which states inside the helmet - ASTM and
SEI.
We still require volunteers
the day of the show. If
you can help
out in any way, just come to the entry booth and let us know.
We will
still require: Canteen help, Ring Stewart, Ribbon person, Warm up ring
supervisor, and Announcer.
I have updated the
Sponsorship Form, The Membership Form and listed the
new show dates.
CALLING ALL VOLUNTEERS
So Much to do!!
The NCR need your help. Show days can be very
busy and there are so many little tasks to
help
with. Serve food (for an hour), be a ring steward,
supervise
the warm up ring, announce classes, hand out ribbons?
There
are so many areas in which you could give a little
bit
of your time. Get in touch with one of the directors if you
can
lend a hand.
Things To Remember For The 2009 Show Season
Red Ribbons - Not the first place
kind! This red ribbon is to be placed on the tail of any
horse or pony that has a tendency to kick. In consideration of
others, and their horses, please do not hesitate to identify
your horse or pony with a red
ribbon. The judges will not mark against you or your horse. The
judges and others will respect you honesty and caring for
the security of all who are riding.
The NCR Horse Club Executive reserve the right to identify
any horse or pony which they deem to be a threat to the riders or
horses competing in the NCR Show.
Helmets for Riders - It
is strongly recommended for all riders to wear an
approved riding helmet with a harness. A liability
waiver must also be signed by all riders and by the parents
of all youth riders.
No Dogs Allowed -
Although we love all animals - a horse show is no place for
the family pet. In consideration of horse and rider please do not
bring your dog to the shows.
